Speaker presentation | Marzia Piccininno
Marzia Piccininno is an experienced professional with a background in archaeology and digitisation of cultural heritage.
She joined the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism in 2002 as a project manager for EU funded projects on digitisation policies (MINERVA, MINERVAplus, and MINERVA eC), and the MEDCULT project funded by UNESCO to spread the MINERVA results across the Mediterranean basin. Since 2008 she’s been working at the Central Institute for the Union Catalogue of the Italian Libraries (ICCU, depending on the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism) as a project manager for the ATHENA, Linked Heritage and AthenaPlus EU projects where she was responsible for supporting European cultural institutions in the content aggregation for Europeana, the European infrastructure for digital cultural heritage. She currently manages the Ministry’s national portal for the WWI centennial commemorations (www.14-18.it). Marzia is also senior project manager for the Europeana DSI and Europeana DSI2 projects on behalf of Michael Culture Association since 2015.
Her experience includes policy advise for digitisation programmes, organisation, networking and workflow facilitation of digital cultural heritage collaborative projects across museums, libraries, and archives.
